FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY. MEDIA. ROCKED!

On 7th February, over 700 people from across the media industry came together for a show-stopping night at Omeara in aid of the Saltpond Education Project. Judged by an esteemed panel of music industry experts, six agency bands from London to Paris went head to head in the ultimate battle of the media bands. If you missed out on Media Rocks, you missed all of this.

eBay’s Head of Marketing Performance and Loyalty, Sarah Helppi, kicked off the party with a DJ set in Omeara’s speakeasy bar, Cantina. In addition, last year’s winner, The Vials from PHD, warmed up the crowd as they returned to stage for an exclusive opening performance.

The night was hosted by Wavemaker’s Fela, with bands from Harvest Digital, Manning Gottlieb OMD, Jungle Creations, iProspect, OMD France and the7Stars battling it out. The judges included Ben Lovett, a founding member of Brit and Grammy award-winning band Mumford & Sons, Radio X DJ Maz Tappuni and Captify’s CEO and ex-professional drummer, Dom Joseph. It’s safe to say the judges weren’t holding back…

Switching between original material to credible covers, the crowd went wild for the eclectic mix of everything from heavy metal to classic rock ‘n’ roll. All the acts put on an incredible live performance, but it was a french band that stole the show, having travelled from Paris to take part. iProspect’s, LAVAA, took home the Media Rocks trophy, plus bragging rights as media’s ultimate band!

Music aside…over £15,000 was raised for a charity very close to our hearts. The Saltpond Education project is a small, grassroots organisation aimed at helping some of the poorest and most vulnerable children in Saltpond, Ghana. You can find out more about all the amazing work they do here.

This epic event will be returning, so get ready to rock with Captify at Media Rocks 2020!
